What else can I say? I’ve been preaching a false gospel for at least 6 months. I wasn’t doing it knowingly. I used hard numbers and anecdotal factors. I thought Romney was going to win based on historical factors and current circumstances. I was wrong. That’s not easy for me to admit. I did it the right way and was still wrong.
I’ll have to think a few days over the results; chew on the outcome. There is no reason why Romney should not have won. Historically, Obama had no reason winning. Maybe we are slow to recognize a change in demographics and politics. Maybe 2008 was a start to this new trend, and 2012 solidified it.
If things have changed so much electorally, I’m not sure Republicans can ever win again. Currently Romney is winning the popular vote and the map is covered in red outside of a few blue pockets in key states. The results are that Obama will win in spite of all of this.
Undoubtedly, there will be those who will say the GOP and Romney ran too far to the right. Yet, Romney was by far the moderate and will likely will win the popular vote. Before this election we ran McCain, who was the bona fide moderate. Before that we ran Bush. Bush was the moderate out of that field.
At any rate, we’ll have to wait a few days for all of this to grow legs. I’ll have to rethink my own beliefs. If I am so out of step with my own country, maybe I’ll have to rethink myself and my fellow countrymen.

The GOP can win again! It must adapt and change to appeal to the newer demographics, you are totally right about that. The worst reaction would be to move farther to the right. Drop the nutso opposition to Roe v Wade and gay marriage. However, Obama won mostly because he had the ground game. That’s another way the GOP could improve their chances. Hire the people to knock on doors.
When the people find that they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the republic. Sell not liberty to purchase power. – Benjamin Franklin
morning Jason, I`m standing on the same corner as you, wearing the “I was wrong” sign. Washington lost every battle but the last one.
Jason,
When it comes down to it, Who should/can you believe? Everyone has an opinion…and you know what they say about opinions. Obama all but conceded the last few days of the campaign and now, we will get to see what he does when he has “a little more flexibility” Go figure.

Appreciate the comments guys. Been pouring over exit polling and demographics. Looks like we lost on demographics. I’m not sure Romney could have won under any conditions.
“I’m not from here” you should probably just direct that to me.
never compromise your core principles. romney was a liberal. the evangelists would not vote for a mormon. conservatives did not show up 100%. The R party goes D lite and then they will lose all the time.
