Will the Zombie Banks kill our economy?
Rich Lowry is pointing out that Congress’ plan to continue to cram money down the hatch in the hopes that it will revive companies and banks that are no longer functioning is dangerously similar to the actions that almost … Continue reading
New revelations about homeless lady who made plea to President Obama
(Photo from AP) Henrietta Hughes made a emotional plea for help to President Obama at a recent town hall meeting in Florida. She told the president that she and her son were homeless living in their car. She has received help … Continue reading
Iranian elections may result in nothing more than a different bird but same old song
The upcoming Iranian presidential elections will undoubtedly bring excitement with the possibility of their own kind of “change.” Of course, they have to ask President Obama for the copyright. It was recently announced that former President Mohammad Khatami will faceoff against firebrand incumbent Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in this summer’s elections. At first glance it looks desirable and should be welcomed. Khatami is seen as a reformer and is far more relaxed on social issues and is considered a moderate on most other issues including foreign policy compared to Ahmadinejad. Continue reading
Even with stimulus there is no quick recovery for the economy. Has Obama’s campaign for support of the bill backfired?
“We’re in trouble,” Mr. Fabbri said. “We don’t have sufficient economic plans at present to resolve the banking system or the financial crisis, and the stimulus package seems loaded for 2010.” He added that the global nature of the downturn along with U.S. consumers’ increased saving and lenders’ tightened standards all stand in the way of a quick recovery.
Mr. Fabbri’s comment is an echo of what other economist are sayingabout the economy for 2009 and the stimulus package, the vehicle designed by Congressional Democrats and aggressively backed by President Obama for economic recovery, in particular. Criticism is still continuing and the complaints range in all directions, but most see this bill as not timely enough, not target specific, (i.e., economy, consumer, jobs,) and too rich in waste. Many economist fear they are witnessing the same mistakes that were made by Japan that brought on their “lost decade.” Continue reading
Finally…Father, Son Reunited But For How Long?
It took the help of the U.S. Congress and international pressure for a man to be reunited with his son who was taken away from him by his wife. After four-and-a-half years they finally got to see each other again. What an unbelievable story. Continue reading
A Bloody Legacy? What else did Charles Darwin think about nature and evolution?
Darwin’s 200th birthday is upon us. For those who are familiar with the man are surely to associate his name as the god father of evolutionist theory and natural selection. Some even consider his “Origins of Species” a breakthrough in human and scientific development. However in recent years, Darwinism and the theory of evolution has lost some steam. A recent Gallup Poll showed that only 4 in 10 believed in evolution and more than that couldn’t associate his name with the theory. Of course as expected, the data fluctuates according to age, education and religion. Continue reading

Israel digs in against enemies as hard-line government emerges from elections
Call it a shot across the bow of appeasers, peace negotiators, two-state solutionist and their enemies. Though the PM race is supposedly to close to call at this point (the centrist Kadima party led by Livni may even eke out a victory over Netanyahu, the Likud leader), the hawkish and nationalist parties led by the right-wing Likud party have emerged dominant in the Israeli elections. Israel foreign policy will shift away from peace talks as a formidable right-leaning coalition will emerge to take Israel’s foreign policy in a more hard-line direction. Continue reading
Liberal establishment in London fear resurgence of right wing politics
With the global economic downturn affecting every wealthy nation in the world things are bound to change. Ed Balls, a Gordon Brown confidant, is worried that things will take a change for the worse. He sees the economic conditions as the perfect condition to give rise to the U.K.’s far right and Fascist political groups. Continue reading
Bad policy and the politics of fear: The New New Deal
So this is the new change ushered in by Obama’s mandate? Repeated reminders that “he won” followed by a hyper-partisan, lavish, Democratic retreat in Virginia — during a time when our economy is supposedly on the verge of a catastrophe mind you. The speech itself amounted to nothing more than a sarcastic-laced, glib and polarizing pep-rally by President Obama. He should take Bill Clinton’s advise in the future. Continue reading
The Obama administration should establish respect before approval
A lot of stock was put into Obama’s election, in fact, too much stock was put into Obama’s election, that as president he would somehow restore America’s image and bring our enemies to the table for reconcilable discussions. As if his mere presences from the Oval Office would inspire world peace. That, of course, was nonsense from those who know little, or chose to ignore, the lessons from history and the examination of our own. President Obama did not even believe such drivel. To be sure, America is respected and revered by its friends in large parts of the world. Americans do care somewhat about our world image, and are adamant about keeping the confidence of our mutual allies. But, we also subscribe to the strong belief of exceptionalism that often times sets us apart, and at times isolates us. Sometimes being the leader of the free word is a lonely position. But, we got to that position by doing it. Continue reading
Iran’s Response
While President Obama is busy restating that he is prepared to hold direct talks with Iran — Iran got straight to the point with their response (or you might say they have “clinched their fists”). The recent successful space launched satellite proves that Iran is perfecting technology that will be needed to supplement their coming nuclear arsenal. When, and if this happens, it will be safe to say that Iran will have arrived on the scene. With the capability to hit Europe and possibly the U.S., who could deny them that status? With such a deterrent at their disposal the Iranian regime will only become emboldened to support terror and exert their influence into regional affairs. Finally, they would become the superpower and power broker in the region. A position they have long coveted, and a real opportunity to create a new “Islamic Third Way” they have long envisioned. Judea Pearl confronts the West’s growing acceptance of evil and terror
Judea Pearl, the father of journalist David Pearl who was brutally slain by Islamist terrorists in Pakistan, wrote a powerfull op ed piece where he addresses the west’s surrender and building recognition of murderous and hateful terrorist. Mr. Pearl holds back few words in going after American universities, liberal elites and their media for legitimizing and “explaining” terror in relative terms. At the end, he ponders if his son died in vain. And ask the question, When will our luminaries stop making excuses for terror? Continue reading

Hugo Chavez and his still ongoing revolution has found new enemies in Venezuela
President Hugo Chavez has a new obstacle standing between the socialist revolution and his people’s supposed destiny. The Jews of Venezuela are now being identified as that opposition and enemies of the socialist revolution. This may be news to some, but for those in the country experiencing the wave of anti-semitism it is hardly something new. The state sponsored campaign against the country’s Jews has been embraced by most leaders, government officials, the country’s media and the general population. The results of this was an attack on a Jewish synagogue last Saturday. The Sephardic synagogue was vandalized and graffiti was sprayed on the walls with Anti-Semitic slogans like “We don’t want Jews here,” and “Jews go from here.” Continue reading
The more things change; the more they stay the same
Normally I would provide some commentary and lend my voice to whatever topic being covered. However, it occurs from time to time that certain instances arise that calls for the event and the players involved to speak for themselves. Additionally, I usually go light on the punditry. I try to add meaningful and insightful post, (or to the best of my ability) but considering the weight and rhetoric of President Obama’s candidacy and the accusations made towards President Bush by his party and followers, this news begs for proper treatment. So I will have to ignore my better angels and break from policy (it seems everyone else is doing it…) to partake in some heavy, finger pointing punditry. Continue reading
