President Obama’s Iraq policy looks better now that he is president.

(Photo: ABC News) Now that President, Obama is seeing that reality, ideology and opinion often clash and, if prudent, reality should always be the victor. President Bush could probably write the manual on that. He took considerable heat for his … Continue reading

Obama wants it both ways for new budget. My Forecast: Expect New Taxes

It was not very long ago that President Obama said that our economy was heading towards a disaster — a disaster so terrible that America very well may never recover. Those comments were coming during the stimulus debate. He was criticized for using fear and playing on people’s insecurities and uncertainties to pass the mammoth spending plan. Now, we are seeing a different message in the administrations new budget plan. He plans to close the deficit without raising taxes on anyone making below $250,000 by 2013. This is all based off assumptions that the economy will turn around soon. Is he seeing something in the markets that the rest of America isn’t seeing? In light of this new proposal it certainly is a rosy outlook from just a few weeks ago when and especially considering his actions and comments have had opposite effects on the economy and Wall Street. Dow Jones Industrial Average. For the President the address to Congress wasn’t exactly a State of the Union, which may have been a good thing because the state of our union isn’t very pleasing right now. The market did not … Continue reading

Russia humbled by recession and now is the time for new talks.

Not very long ago analyst in Washington and European capitals were worried that Russian leaders were beefing up total political control at home while expanding its influence abroad — even if that meant militarily. Not surprisingly, quick conclusions emerged that had us facing Russia in a new cold war. However, that may not have been the right assumption. Continue reading

God of the Holy Bible vs Allah of the Koran

An honest and objective reading of both the Quran and the Bible reveals a significant clash between the two both in terms of how to conceptualize God, as well as in their respective depictions of the behavior of deity. Allah says and does things that the God of the Bible did not and would not say or do. The Quran’s representation of the sovereignty of God (like Calvinism) contradicts the character of God by attributing actions to Him that are unlike deity. Continue reading

Two years and two and a half trillion dollars in deficits

Remember the good ol days when the U.S. only had a $450 billion dollar deficit? That was all they way back in 2008, and just a few months into 2009, we have already surpassed that high-water mark. Roughly a quarter of our entire nation’s history of debt was accumulated these last two years. The interest on all this borrowed money is more than what the country spends on the war in Iraq. That is not counting the recently signed stimulus bill by the Obama administration. This is for certain in our times of uncertainty: The American people can expect to have trillion dollar deficits for years to come. Continue reading

UN concludes Iran possesses more nuclear material than previously thought

This issue just may find itself moving higher on the Obama administrations to do list. Some disappointing, but none too surprising, news and developments is coming from the United Nations. They released report in the International Atomic Energy Agency that their nuclear program has been underestimated and concluded that Iran has enough enriched uranium for one nuclear bomb. The images shown in the Google Ocean satellite survey reflects a grouping of grids, patterned sections of squares, and obvious 90 degree right angles that all point towards artificial production — in other words, man made.
